When Madeline D’Engle wrote her classic, A Wrinkle in Time, business computer work was known as “Automated Data Processing.”  ADP later became Information Technology, and I traveled the world with my colleague Brian Gallant, doing risk assessments of IT practices.  Once he joked about the “One Big Brain Theory of Management”; the tyrannical creature ‘IT’ from D’Engle’s book immediately came to mind.
